Hyderabad, May 14 -- Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand on Wednesday said strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disturb peace, public order and communal harmony during the forthcoming Bakrid festival in the State.
The DGP, along with senior officials from various departments, conducted a video conference with Police Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of all districts to review security and preventive measures ahead of the festival.
Referring to decisions taken during review meetings chaired by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, the DGP instructed police officers to strictly prevent illegal transportation and trafficking of cattle during the Bakrid festival scheduled later this month.
