New Delhi, July 13 -- Indian Stock Markets on Monday recovered smartly from early losses to close marginally higher. Gains were recorded in information technology stocks.
At close, the Sensex was up 47.01 points or 0.06 percent at 77,616.40, while the Nifty was up 4.10 points or 0.02 percent at 24,211. Further, Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100, ended on flat note.
Among the sectors, Nifty IT surged 3.59%, Nifty Media closed with a healthy gain of 2.09% while Nifty Consumer Durables rose by 1.15%. Further, Nifty Bank, PSU Bank and Private Bank indices ended 0.15%, 0.11%, and 0.25% higher, respectively. On the other hand, Nifty FMCG fell 1%, and Metal pack declined by 0.69%.
