New Delhi, Aug. 4 -- Indian stock markets on Tuesday ended lower, snapping a four-session winning streak. The markets responded as investors booked profits amid weekly derivatives expiry.

At the time of close, Sensex was down 210.08 points or 0.27 per cent at 78,428.95, and the Nifty was down 159.40 points or 0.64 per cent at 24,614.90. Nifty midcap index shed 0.3 per cent, while smallcap index was up 0.2 per cent.

Indian rupee ended marginally lower at 95.38 per dollar on Tuesday compared with the previous close of 95.34.

Among the sectors, most of the indices remained largely negative. Nifty Realty emerged as the top loser, declining 2.4pc. It was followed by Nifty Oil & Gas (-1.1pc), Nifty FMCG (-0.9pc), Nifty Private Bank (-0.7pc), N...
