New Delhi, March 24 -- The Indian stock market on Tuesday rebounded sharply to end with solid gains in a volatile session.
At close, the Sensex was up 1,372.06 points or 1.89 percent at 74,068.45, and the Nifty was up 399.75 points or 1.78 percent at 22,912.40. Broader indices outperformed the main indices with Nifty mid and smallcap indices rising 2.6pc each.
The market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies jumped to Rs 423.16 lakh crore against Monday's Rs 415.21 lakh crore.
Among the sectors, all the indices ended in the green. Auto, IT, metal, media, bank, consumer durables, PSU Bank, Private bank, infra, consumer durables were up 2pc each.
