Mirzapur, Jan. 13 -- In a shocking incident in Mirzapur district, a man allegedly murdered his stepmother and stepbrother by slitting their throats with a sharp-edged weapon (banka) over a long-standing property dispute. The accused later attempted to dispose of the bodies, but was arrested following public alert and police action, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The incident occurred late Monday night in Patel village under the Madihan police station area, about 30 kilometers from the district headquarters. The accused has been identified as Rahul Gupta, a resident of the village.
