Mumbai, Feb. 17 -- French President Emmanuel Macron was accorded a formal welcome in Mumbai as he commenced his three-day visit to India, with senior Maharashtra leaders receiving him upon arrival in the city. The visiting leader, accompanied by First Lady Brigitte Macron, landed in Mumbai in the early hours of Tuesday.

Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Sunetra Pawar and Eknath Shinde were present at the airport to receive the French President and the First Lady. The dignitaries greeted the visiting leader soon after he disembarked from the aircraft, and exchanged pleasantries during the reception ceremony.
