Lucknow, July 21 -- Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday approved a proposal to purchase new electric buses to expand the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus fleet. A total of Rs 425.50 crore will be spent on this project.
Under this decision, a provision of Rs 400 crore has been made for the financial year 2026-27. In addition, UPSRTC will bear an additional Rs 25.50 crore. This clears the way for the purchase of 250 new electric buses.
State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna stated here that, as per the Cabinet decision, 100 electric buses (12-meter, 3x2 Type-II, 50-seater) and 150 electric buses (12-meter, 2x2 Type-III, 41-seater) will be added to the roadways fleet. The operation of these buses will make the public transport ...
