Chennai, Aug. 6 -- Opposition DMK President M.K.Stalin on Thursday criticised the Tamil Nadu Agriculture Budget 2026, calling it a "hollow exercise" that failed to address the pressing concerns of farmers, particularly those affected by drought in cauvery delta districts.

In a post on X, Stalin, referring to Agriculture Minister R Vinoth lavishly praising Chief Minister Vijay during his budget address, alleged that instead of discussing drought and farmer distress, the budget session was used to heap praise on the Chief Minister.

He remarked that the exercise appeared to be merely a "renaming event," suggesting that existing schemes of the Dravidian Model government were simply rebranded with a "victory" label.
