Chennai, Feb. 1 -- With the elections in the offing, Tamil Nadu ChiefMinister M K Stalin on Sunday highlighted some of the key issuesconcerning the state and sought release of funds and approvals in theUnion Budget presented by Finance Minister Ms Nirmala Sitharaman.

Though the wish list is longer, the Chief Minister listed out five keyissues for the state.

They included release of Rs 3,548 crore funds for the School EducationDepartment under the SSA scheme, sanction for Coimbatore and MaduraiMetro Rail Projects, new Railway projects, Rs 3,112 crore funds underJal Jeevan scheme being implemented in the state in an effective manner,50 per cent share in revenue for state as recommended by the FinanceCommission.
