Chennai, Feb. 18 -- Southern Railway on Wednesday announced that it has registered strong freight performance from Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals (GCTs).
Southern Railway continues to develop its freight traffic potential through the operationalisation of GCTs, delivering significant gainsin freight loading and revenue generation.
Cargo Related Facilities (CRFs) complement GCTs by developing modern logistics infrastructure on Railway land to support freight operations.
Southern Railway has operationalised GCTs at the Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd-GCT (CPCT) at Manali, Chennai Division,since July 2023 and it has handled 138 outward rakes (0.559 Million Tonnes), earning Rs 54.70 crore.
