Chennai, April 9 -- The Southern Railway has achieved significant milestones in the Signal and Telecommunication (S and T) domain during FY 2025-26, reinforcing its commitment to safety, reliability and modernisation of train operations.
Focusing on improving the safety and reliability of signals, Electronic Interlocking (EI) works surpassed targets with 15 installations against 12 planned.
The reliability of the Interlocking logic has been enhanced by replacing Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) and Panel Interlocking (PI) with Electronic Interlocking, a Southern Railway release said on Thursday.
