Tirumala, Sept. 15 -- The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Venkateswara Swamy commenced at Tirumala on Tuesday evening with the traditional Dhwajarohanam ceremony at the Srivari temple.
The ritual was performed in accordance with Vaikhanasa Agama traditions between 6.21 pm and 6.35 pm during the auspicious Meena Lagnam.
Earlier, Malayappa Swamy, accompanied by consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, was taken in a procession on the Golden Tiruchi along with the Parivara Devatas.
The Dhwaja Patam bearing the image of Garuda was brought into the temple and special pujas were performed, followed by Asthanam for the processional deities at the Tirumalaraya Mandapam.
