Toronto, Oct. 29 -- India's rising squash sensation Anahat Singh pulled off the biggest win of her young career, defeating world No. 7 and defending champion Tinne Gilis of Belgium in the quarter-finals of the Canadian Women's Open 2025.

Anahat Singh, ranked 43rd in the rankings, beat Gilis, also the defending champion at the PSA event, 3-0 (12-10, 11-9, 11-9) in 36 minutes and progressed to the last four of the Silver-level event.

The victory marked another milestone in Anahat's breakout season. Earlier in the tournament, she earned her first-ever win against a top-20 opponent, beating France's world No. 20 Melissa Alves 3-1 in the second round on Sunday.
