Guwahati, March 6 -- The Indian Air Force on Friday confirmed that Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Duragkar were killed after their Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter aircraft crashed in the Karbi Anglong region of Assam during a training mission on Thursday evening.
In a post on X, the Air Force said, "IAF acknowledges the loss of Sqn Ldr Anuj and Flt Lt Purvesh Duragkar, who sustained fatal injuries in the Su-30 crash. All personnel of the IAF express sincere condolences, and stand firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief."The fighter jet had gone missing shortly after taking off from Jorhat on Thursday evening.
