Dharamshala, Sept. 1 -- Former Dharamshala Mayor Devendra Jaggi said sports play a vital role in the all-round development of children by inculcating discipline, leadership, self-confidence and team spirit.
Jaggi was speaking after inaugurating the 2026-27 Under-14 Block-Level Sports Competition at Government High School, Yol Cantt, by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Students from various schools in the block are participating in different sporting events and showcasing their talent.
Encouraging the young athletes, Jaggi said children possess immense talent and need only proper platforms and encouragement to excel. He urged the participants to focus on discipline, honesty and sportsmanship rather than merely the outcome of competitions.
