Palamu, Feb. 14 -- The Excise Department seized 18,880 litres of illegal spirit from Bheetia village under Pipra police station limits in Palamu district.
The consignment, valued at Rs 13,21,600, was allegedly meant to be supplied to Bihar for manufacturing spurious liquor.
According to officials, the spirit was recovered from a cowshed at the residence of one of the accused, identified as Lav Kumar Chandravanshi. Another accused, Pramod Kumar, was also arrested in connection with the case.
Superintendent of Excise Sujit Kumar disclosed the details at a press conference held at his office on Saturday afternoon.
