Spice park and potato processing facility to come up in HP

Shimla, Feb. 11 -- The Department of Agriculture, Government of Himachal Pradesh, will set up a Spice Park and a Potato Processing Facility in the state to promote natural farming and strengthen the rural economy.

This was announced by Dr C. Paulrasu, Secretary (Agriculture) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh, following the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) at Shimla on Tuesday.

The MoUs were signed by Director of Agriculture Dr R.S. Jasrotia, Managing Director of the HP Agriculture Marketing Board Hemis Negi, and Project Director Dr Sunil Chauhan of the HP JICA Agriculture Project with APG Foods Division and ARFM Foods for the Spice Park and Potato Processing Facility respectively.
