Mumbai, Jan. 23 -- Political activity has intensified in Mumbai following developments in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC), where corporators of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) recently shifted their support away from the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena and extended backing to the Eknath Shinde-led camp.
The move has triggered speculation over whether the MNS could adopt a similar political position in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The debate gained momentum after senior MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar remarked that "anything can happen in politics", a comment that fuelled discussions about possible realignments in Mumbai's civic body and the likelihood of the MNS supporting the ruling Mahayuti alliance.
