Special run of over Century old Heritage Vintage Loco EIR-21 conducted to mark I-day

Chennai, Aug. 15 -- The Heritage Special runs of the World's oldest functioning and more than century old Steam Locomotive, EIR-21 was conducted by the Southern Railway today to commemorate the 79th Independence Day celebrations.

Mr Kaushal Kishore, Additional General Manager, Southern Railway, Mr Shailendra Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Chennai and other Railway Officers and staff participated in the heritage runs conducted between Dr MGR Chennai Central and Villivakkam stations today.

The loco hauled one coach, a Southern Railway release said.
