Hyderabad, March 11 -- In a development likely to trigger a fresh political row in Telangana, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar on Wednesday dismissed petitions seeking the disqualification of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLAs -- Kadiyam Srihari and Danam Nagender, who were accused of switching loyalties to the ruling Indian National Congress.
Delivering the ruling, the Speaker said the petitioners failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove that the two legislators had formally defected to the Congress and ruled that they are technically still members of the BRS.
