Kochi, June 26 -- Archaeologists have identified rare Iberian-Spanish amphorae among the artefacts unearthed during excavations at the ancient port settlement of Pattanam, providing fresh evidence of Kerala's maritime links with the Iberian Peninsula more than two millennia ago.
The discovery was made by the research division of the Kerala Council for Historical Research (KCHR) during post-excavation analysis of artefacts recovered over multiple excavation seasons at Pattanam.
