Lucknow, June 17 -- Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections early next year, the Samajwadi Party (SP) is working on a strategy to gain influence among Brahmins.
A large gathering of the Brahmin community will be held in Lucknow on August 5, Janeshwar Mishra's birth anniversary. All the Brahmin leaders, both senior and senior, associated with Janeshwar Mishra and within the SP will be invited.
A senior SP official said that party chief Akhilesh Yadav has assigned this responsibility to Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Mata Prasad Pandey, and Ballia MP Sanatan Pandey, to organise this conference.
