Lucknow, Sept. 20 -- Ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have begun preparations to consolidate their electoral base. Both the parties are focusing on non-Yadav OBCs, seeking to replicate their performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

A senior SP leader and former MP said that the party has shifted its attention towards non-Yadav OBC communities, particularly those that distanced themselves from the BJP in 2024 or where the party's relations have weakened.
