Chennai, June 4 -- The SouthWest Monsoon has set in over Kerala on Thursday which was expected to provide heavy rains in Western Ghat and in border districts of Tamil Nadu and also bring down the intensity of the heat wave conditions.

Formally announcing it, Met office said the Southwest monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of Southwest and Southeast Arabian Sea, some parts of westcentral and eastcentral Arabian Sea, entire Lakshadweep islands, Kerala and Mahe.

It has also advanced into some parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, remaining parts of Comorin area, southeast Bay of Bengal and some more parts of southwest, westcentral, eastcentral and northeast Bay of Bengal today.
