Seoul, Aug. 17 -- South Korea on Monday said it expects the "friendly relations" between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to help pave the way for meaningful dialogue between Washington and Pyongyang and advance peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
The presidential office in Seoul made the remarks after Trump said he had instructed the Pentagon to "substantially" reduce joint military exercises with South Korea, describing the drills as costly and saying they sent a "totally inappropriate and hostile" signal to North Korea.
