Hyderabad, Aug. 6 -- The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway (SCR) detected 606 cases of littering and spitting during a 20-day special anti-littering drive conducted across major railway stations and onboard trains in the division.

The special drive was conducted from July 17 to August 5 as part of SCR's efforts to maintain clean, hygienic and passenger-friendly railway stations and trains.

During the drive, offenders were penalised under the relevant provisions of the Railways Act.

The enforcement was carried out by Ticket Checking Staff (TTEs) and Commercial Department officials at Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Begumpet, Lingampalli, Charlapalli, Kazipet, Warangal and Khammam railway stations.
