Colombo, Aug. 26 -- Pasindu Sooriyabandara remained unbeaten on a resolute 90 as Sri Lanka reached 199 for three at tea on the fourth day of the second Test against India at the Sinhalese Sports Club here on Wednesday, dramatically reducing their first-innings deficit to just 14 runs.
Sri Lanka, forced to follow on after being bowled out for 290 in their first innings, had begun the second innings at a precarious 83 for two at lunch. The hosts then staged a strong recovery through a 115-run third-wicket partnership between Sooriyabandara and Kamindu Mendis.
