New Delhi, June 25 -- Delhi Home and Education Minister Ashish Sood chaired a high-level meeting to assess the safety standards, infrastructure and regulatory framework of coaching centres in the national capital, in the wake of the devastating fire incident at a Lucknow 3D animation and coaching centre that killed 15 students.
The meeting today focused extensively on fire safety measures, regulatory shortcomings, student welfare, and unfair commercial practices adopted by certain coaching institutes.
The Minister stated that in the wake of the unfortunate incidents at coaching centres in the past, and in the nearby states, over 900 coaching centers have been inspected in a month.
