Panchkula, Sept. 11 -- Haryana Police personnel in Sonipat have voluntarily contributed Rs 25.05 lakh to support the family of Head Constable Devi Dayal, who lost his life after being hit by a vehicle while performing duty, a Haryana Police spokesperson said here today.
Sonipat Police Commissioner Mamta Singh, ADGP, handed over a cheque of Rs 25,05,200 to the deceased policeman's wife as a gesture of solidarity and support for the bereaved family.
Head Constable Devi Dayal, son of Rishpal and a resident of Namunda village in Panipat district, lost his life after being hit by a vehicle while on duty in the Kundli police station area.
