Jalaun, March 14 -- A tragic incident has emerged from Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh, where a paramilitary soldier succumbed to severe burn injuries nine days after his wife died in a kitchen fire caused by a leaking LPG cylinder regulator.

The incident occurred on March 4 during Holi in Umri town under Rampura police station. The deceased soldier, 30-year-old Brijendra Singh Jodhavat alias Vicky, was serving as a Havildar in a paramilitary force and was posted in Guwahati. He had come home on a month-long leave on February 15.
