Dhanbad, April 4 -- A solar skilling initiative linked to clean energy transition in coal-bearing regions is set to be expanded through a Centre of Excellence at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, with training planned for candidates from Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

The programme, backed by ReNew, is intended to provide industry-oriented training for people from coal-dependent communities seeking employment in the renewable energy sector.

According to details shared ahead of the launch, over 500 candidates are expected to be covered in the next phase through a fully sponsored two-month course.

The training modules are expected to include solar PV installation under the Suryamitra framework, project management, and operations and maintenance.
