Thiruvananthapuram, April 23 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today expressed profound grief over the death of three persons due to snakebites reported from various parts of the state, pointing out that two of the victims were children, making the tragedy even more distressing.
In a statement, the Chief Minister warned that the ongoing extreme heat conditions have significantly increased the chances of snake encounters. Unable to withstand the high temperatures, snakes - including hatchlings - are more likely to emerge from their natural habitats and move towards cooler areas, often near human settlements.
