Chennai, Oct. 5 -- A smoke emanated from the wheels of a superfastexpress train heading to Dr MGR Central Railway Station in Chennai fromThiruvananthapuram following which the train was stopped at the Arakkonamstation today.
Railways officials attributed it to a technical glitch and the train after a briefdelay, left for Chennai after the problem was rectified quicklySoon after the smoke was noticed, the train was stopped by pulling the emergencychain at the Arakkonam station.
The smoke emanated after the dynamo alternator which generates electric power forthe traction motor that drives the train wheels, in the B2 coach, got stuck at around8.30 am.
