Thiruvananthapuram, June 20 -- Tourism industry stakeholders have welcomed the Kerala government's renewed focus on pilgrimage and heritage tourism in the 2026-27 revised budget, describing the initiatives as a significant boost for the state's hospitality and tourism sectors.
Prasad Manjali, Secretary General of the South Kerala Hoteliers Forum (SKHF), said the proposal to develop major pilgrimage centres such as Sabarimala, Guruvayur, Kottiyoor and Thiruvallam on the lines of the Tirupati model was a positive step that would strengthen Kerala's tourism economy.
