Bhubaneswar, July 9 -- Six members of an inter-district gang allegedly involved in dacoity and cyber fraud were arrested by the Kendujhar police, officials said on Thursday.
Police seized three swords, one knife, 12 mobile phones, 26 bank passbooks, 28 SIM cards and Rs 3,300 in cash from the possession of the accused.
According to the police, the large number of bank passbooks and SIM cards recovered indicates that the gang had created multiple fake bank accounts to facilitate the transfer of fraudulently obtained money.
