Krishnagar, May 12 -- A pall of grief descended over parts of Nadia district after two devastating road accidents within hours of each other claimed six lives, including a five-year-old child, on National Highway-12 and adjoining stretches early Tuesday morning.
The mishaps, involving a passenger vehicle returning from a religious pilgrimage and a motorcycle carrying a family of three, once again exposed the growing menace of reckless heavy-vehicle movement on Bengal's highways at night.
