Simdega, July 7 -- Six juveniles escaped from the Simdega Child Welfare Home late Sunday night, triggering a security scare and a statewide search operation.
The boys, detained in separate criminal cases including murder, scaled the boundary wall under the cover of darkness after staging a diversion, police said.
Among the escapees are one juvenile from Latehar, two from West Singhbhum, and three from Gumla district.
Following the incident, Simdega DSP Headquarters and SDPO launched an investigation. Police teams have been deployed to trace the absconding juveniles.
