Motihari, March 3 -- Six children drowned in a pond in East Champaran district of Bihar on Tuesday.
Police said here that some children were playing at Lohara village and they entered into a nearby pond to take bath. While bathing, they moved into deep waters and drowned unable to swim.
" With assistance of State Disaster Response Force(SDRF), all six bodies were fished out and sent for postmortem ", police said adding that civil surgeon had been directed by the senior officials to carry out postmortem tonight itself and hand over the bodies to their relatives.
