New Delhi, Aug. 2 -- Six Bangladeshi nationals have been detained in central Delhi for allegedly violating the conditions of their Indian visas after they were found overstaying beyond the permitted duration of each visit, police said on Sunday.

The action was taken during Operation VISTA 1.0 (Visa Status Verification), a drive launched by the Foreigner Cell of the Special Staff, Central District, to identify foreign nationals overstaying or violating visa conditions.

According to the police, a verification drive was carried out at hotels and guesthouses across the Central District. During an inspection at a hotel on Arakashan Road in Nabi Karim, officials found six Bangladeshi nationals staying there.
