Shillong, Aug. 27 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today said the situation alongthe state's border with Assam remains under control, even as he reiterated the state government's commitment to resolve the vexed border dispute.

Sangma said there was a lull in the border talks between Meghalaya and Assam for the last 46 years.

"Finally, we ( at the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government) started the talks. I guess you can give us that much credit. it is not so simple, it is complicated. So whatever lull that was there for 46 years, we try to make it better and we will continue to work on it," he told reporters on Tuesday.
