Guwahati, Feb. 8 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that the SIT of Assam Police has substantial evidence to chargesheet Gaurav Gogoi, Elizabeth Colebourn and others in the case but justified the decision of the state cabinet to transfer the case to union Ministry of Home Affairs so that the case is taken to a logical conclusion.

He said this while complimenting the Assam police for its investigation but said that the involvement of central agencies are required as the Assam police has some limitations. Sarma said that the state police has jurisdiction to retrieve electronic data and phone records for two years only.
