Kolkata, July 1 -- In a significant development, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of West Bengal police has uncovered a large number of properties related documents linked to former influential Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader of Falta, Jahangir Khan, and his wife Regina alias Sarika Bibi.
Senior officials of the SIT have informed that around 60 documents have been recovered so far that include property deeds of land, flats and other immovable assets.
Investigators are now trying to determine how the couple accumulated such substantial wealth.
Police are examining whether the properties were purchased from individuals, the amounts paid for them, and the source of the funds used in these transactions.
