Aizawl, May 31 -- Mizoram has launched an extensive exercise to update its electoral rolls ahead of 2026, with election authorities gearing up for a month-long door-to-door verification campaign that is expected to reach every registered voter in the state, including those living in some of the most remote and difficult-to-access villages.
While the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls officially commenced on Saturday, election officials said the large-scale field operation will gather pace from Monday as Booth Level Officers (BLOs) begin visiting households across polling areas to verify voter details and facilitate the preparation of a fresh electoral roll.
