Hyderabad, May 27 -- Communist Party of India (CPI) Telangana State Secretary and MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao on Wednesday warned that Singareni workers would be forced to go on strike if their demands are not addressed by the second week of June.
Addressing a press conference at the CPI State Office in Himayat Nagar, Sambasiva Rao said the government must protect Singareni Collieries, which he described as the "heartbeat of Telangana," and focus on the welfare of workers along with the organisation's development.
He alleged that the government was withholding Rs 56,000 crore dues owed to Singareni and demanded a White Paper on the company's financial condition.
