Hyderabad, May 24 -- In view of forecasts indicating the onset of the Southwest monsoon within the next ten days, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has initiated special measures to ensure uninterrupted coal production during the rainy season.
The Company Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti on Saturday conducted a comprehensive review meeting with General Managers of all areas and directed officials to take advance precautionary measures to prevent disruption to coal production during the monsoon.
According to the company, nearly 95 per cent of Singareni's coal production currently comes from open cast mines, where heavy rains often disrupt mining operations due to water accumulation.
