Gangtok, Sept. 24 -- Nature presented a striking contrast in Sikkim on Thursday, as the state witnessed its first snowfall of the season on the Changu (Tsomgo) route, even as incessant rain triggered landslides, mudslides and road blockades at several places, leaving people in the hills facing a difficult and uncertain situation.
Snowfall was reported from the Changu route up to the ITBP Camp, with local residents and tourists witnessing the season's first snowfall since late morning.
The snowfall brought a moment of joy to visitors and those who had been waiting for the onset of winter in the high-altitude areas.
