Neeraj BaliChandigarh, June 29 -- The Akal Takht on Monday directed the Punjab government to amend the recently enacted 'Jagat Jyot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026' within one month after raising objections to several provisions of the legislation.

The directive came after Sikh ministers and legislators, including those from the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), appeared before the highest temporal seat of the Sikhs to explain their support for the law.
