Kolkata, June 1 -- Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday, alleging that there was large-scale signature forgery regarding the selection of the Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly.

Speaking to journalists at Nabanna, Adhikari claimed that the controversy had exposed deep divisions within the TMC itself.

According to him, the party's national general secretary had written to Assembly Speaker Rathindra Basu on May 9, informing him that Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay had been chosen as the Leader of the Opposition and Nayana Bandyopadhyay as the Deputy Leader.
