Bengaluru/New Delhi, May 29 -- Outgoing Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday met senior Congress leaders in the national capital amid intense discussions over the formation of the next government in the state following his resignation.

Siddaramaiah, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Karnataka Congress in-charge Randeep Surjewala, held discussions with Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi.

Sources said the meeting focused on the formation of the new government, including a possible Cabinet reshuffle, Rajya Sabha nominations and appointments to the Legislative Council.
