Bengaluru, Jan. 20 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday expressed concerns over a possible reduction in the number of Lok Sabha seats for southern states under the proposed delimitation of parliamentary constituencies, warning that it could undermine federal principles and democratic equity.
Speaking at a conference organised by the Centre for Socialist Studies and Samajwadi Sangama here, the Chief Minister said the proposed delimitation exercise posed a grave risk to southern states that had successfully implemented population control measures.
